First Family Day Event During Sunday Morning Worship

Members at Bethel of Glory let their hair down and joined in a Family Day event during Sunday Morning Worship yesterday 25 March 2012.

We normally have our Annual Family Day on May 1 or 2, and this is usually held in the Youth park or at Bukit Dumbar.

However, in order to get all members involved, we held a family game at the church sanctuary yesterday.
This is a first for BOG.
That's a miracle in Penang!

Old and young joined in the fun. The game? Putting together a scripture verse from an envelop full of words, gluing the words in right sequence onto an A4 size paper, and seeing which group comes out fastest.

Jimmy giving out the game plans!

Waiting for instructions

Many asked. "Why only one game? Can we have more next time?"
Others say, "Why only once every 3 months? Can we do it more often?"

Lets wait and see what Jimmy and the deacons will do in response to the feedback.

Thanks to God for putting us into His family!
Thanks to God for every family member in BOG!
Thanks to God for all who joined in playing and watching the game!

Three Great Miracles In A Family

The gift of eternal life is priceless.
Eternal life cannot be bought with any price, even with all the silver and gold of the universe.
Eternal life is not earned by good works or by any works of any man.

Jesus said: "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" (Matthew 16:26).

Eternal life is a free gift from God, given to anyone who believes in Jesus as Saviour. "For God loved the people of the world so much that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall never die but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

All men have sinned and cannot save themselves or others. The wages of sin is death and the fire of hell.
Only the blood of Jesus shed on the cross can wash away our sins. This is because Jesus, the sinless Son of God, suffered the punishment of God on the cross for the sins of all men. The penalty for our sins have been fully paid by Jesus on the cross.

This is the love that God has for all men, sending His only Son to die for evil people like you and me, so that we can become His true sons and daughters today, tomorrow and forever in heaven!

Whoever believes in Jesus shall not die eternally in hell but will have eternal life---the life of God.

Yesterday, 18 March 2012, on a bright and sunny and glorious Sunday, three members of one family---the Soo family---received the free gift of eternal life from God, as they believed in Jesus as Saviour and were baptized in water to declare their faith in Jesus.

No other miracle can ever be greater than the miracle of eternal life. And it is available to every one and any one in Penang! The greatest miracle of all in this life is just a prayer away! And it is free! Oh the amazing grace and matchless mercy of God to the people of Penang!

Jesus said that all the angels in heaven rejoice over one person who turns back to God (Luke 15:7). We also rejoice with heaven over the three matchless miracles given by God to this family. All glory be to God!

Dancing Dogs of Balik Pulau, Malaysia - 1

I have just uploaded a video on the Dancing Dogs of Balik Pulau (The link is posted below at the end of this blog).

These are my household dogs:

This is George, the dancing dog in the video

This is Lola, the mother of George

This is Sarkozy, the French bulldog

The dancing dog in the video is George, the son of Lola. George learnt dancing from his mother. All his siblings also learnt dancing from Lola the mother. Lola is a cross-breed, a mix between a Hush Puppy and a Dachshund, given to us over 10 years ago. Lola is the favourite dog of Grace and Abigail and Rachel, my three daughters. When they were young, I had to remind them, "No dogs in the bedroom, please!"

Lola is not in this video, but will appear soon. At one time, Lola and George and one other dog danced in synchronized fashion! This was only a short performance (the other dog, a Jack Russell, my favourite dog, is already dead).

We presently have 4 dogs, namely Lola and George and Sarkozy (a French bulldog with a deformed front foot) and Moo-Moo (George's step brother, who lives in the garden among the grass day and night). All the dogs in my household belong solely to my wife Joy. I only feed them when I am instructed, and control them when they chase after strangers and meter readers.

However, they seldom obey me. What to do?!?
When I feed them, they refuse to eat and linger over the food. When I ask them to come, they run away. As I said, they are my wife's dogs, and they rush to meet her whenever she returns from an outing, and eat heartily whenever she feeds them.

Please do come and visit us and watch the dancing dogs of Balik Pulau!!!
They are one of a kind.
That's a miracle in Penang!!!

The video link is here:

Please be aware that the dogs only dance early in the morning as they greet me and my wife; and when we return home at night, they will always greet us with dancing. They do not dance as ordered. We do not train them to dance.

"God Saved Me From A Great Disaster When A Motorbike Crashed Into My Car Last Tuesday"

I shared this testimony with the congregation at Bethel of Glory on Sunday 11 March 2012 about the great mercy of God on my life the past week.

"Last Tuesday, as I was driving a friend from India, Brother Abishek, from Lip Sin Garden to Sungai Ara in the afternoon, a motorbike, driven at very high velocity, rammed into the back of my small Kelisa 300 yards before the Vistana Hotel, along Jalan Bukit Gambier, at the inner fast lane.

"The bike fell dead on the spot, and I drove further down the road to park at the road side. Abishek and I then walked back to the spot where the rider had fallen. He was unconscious and lying flat on the road, his body suffering from fits and muscle spasms. Many people were gathered around him, and a few were trying to revive him from his unconscious state. One man suggested that we carry him to the road side, while another said that it is wiser to wait for the ambulance, as his neck might be broken. Abishek and I laid hands on him and commanded him to be healed and to live!

"We all then carried him to the road side, while some people continued to revive him by shaking him and calling out to him. A few members from the Safety and Welfare Society arrived and called for an ambulance. Motor accident workshop runners were all over the place also. All were very helpful. A few other motorcyclists talked to me and told me that the rider, a young man, seemed to be suffering from fits on the bike and seemed to be unable to control his speed, just before his motorbike hit my car.

"After 20 minutes, he woke up. He remembered nothing when we talked to him. He claimed that he drove out slowly from Lip Sin Garden and then his bike fell on the road, and that his bike did not knock into any car.

"The greatest miracle was that there was not a drop of blood anywhere on his body or clothes. Neither were his bones or neck broken, as feared earlier, nor his head cracked. He only had a superficial laceration at the back of his waist. His brother then arrived and took him home after talking to me. The ambulance never arrived.

"I thank God for His great mercy that the rider did not fly into my car though the back window, did not break his neck or bones, did not crack his skull, and did not die, even after such a violent impact. Otherwise, there would be no end to the problems that would arise if he had died or if he had suffered severe injuries.

"Our God is a great and awesome God who cares for all His children. He saved me from a great disaster that day. All glory be to Him. What a mighty God we serve!"

COMMENTS:
"That was a great miracle in Penang that day."

Psalm 91 operates for us when we commit our day to God, so that no harm or disasters will come near to us or to our families.

Psalm 91:1-3, 9-10
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my
fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling—
even the LORD, who is my refuge—
10 then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.

"God healed me of high fever and severe body-aches"

Brother Jimmy shared this testimony last Sunday, 11 March 2012, about the healing God gave him in the last one week.

He said:
"Last Monday and Tuesday, I suffered from very high fever, severe headache, joint pain, and body-aches.
I thought I was going to die; it was that debilitating!

"I saw a doctor who suspected dengue at first, but it was not so.
Nevertheless, I took whatever antibiotics and medicines he gave me.

"I also prayed to God for healing and by faith I believed that my healing has come, and I then began to declare that 'By the wounds of Jesus, I have been healed' (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24; Mark 11:24).

"Brother Samuel also encouraged me to take the Lord's Supper regularly, for the 'Life of Jesus is in His blood' (Leviticus 17:11; John 6:53). I therefore celebrated the Lord's Supper daily, believing that the life of Jesus is flowing through me as I drink His blood.

"I also want to thank all the brothers and sisters who called me up and prayed for me and encouraged me.
Most of all I thank my good wife who not only took good care of me but also looked after the children and helped in their school activities.

"Towards the middle of the week, I began to recover, though still weak from the initial high fever and pains. By the end of the week, I was 90% recovered.

"I give all glory to God for His miraculous healing in my life this past week."

That's a great miracle for Jimmy, who thought he was going to die.

And God will always healed us, no matter what our sicknesses, for healing belongs to every child of God through the work of Jesus on the cross.

For on the cross, "Jesus took away our sicknesses and carried our pains. And by His wounds, we have been healed" (Isaiah 53:4-5, RSV Margin; 1 Peter 2:24).

"My Washing Machine Miracles"

On Sunday, 11 March 2012, Sister Naomi @ Ah Peng shared this powerful testimony:

She said:
"I worship regularly with a Thai church in Penang. Recently, I heard that the pastor had no washing machine. As I was praying one day, the Lord spoke to me and asked me to give him my washing machine. I obeyed the Holy Spirit and gave away my washing machine. However, three days later, a neighbour gave me her washing machine! That's a great miracle!

"After one week, a problem developed with the machine my neighbour gave me. At the end of the washing cycle, the clothes did not spin dry. So I had to wring the clothes myself so that they are dry enough to hang on the clothes line. I did this for 6 days. I said to myself: 'God did not give me this machine to add problems to my life. He has a purpose in this problem.' So I thank God that God wanted me to exercise my arm muscles in squeezing the clothes dry. Meanwhile,  I prayed to God to heal the machine. I then commanded the machine to be healed.

"On the seventh day, the machine began to shake and rattle at the end of the washing cycle and began to spin. The clothes were spun dry! The machine was healed! All glory to God! That's the second miracle with this washing machine."

COMMENTS:

I thank God for Naomi's obedience to the Holy Spirit. As she sowed, she reaped. She gave away a washing machine and received another in return. She walked in faith and obedience and blessed another person and received a great miracle in return.

I also thank God for her faith in receiving healing for her washing machine that had a problem. Thank God that she did not complain when she faced the problem, but rejoiced that God wanted her to exercise her arm muscles as she squeezed the clothes dry for 6 days.

To receive your miracles, as Naomi did, do the following:
(a) Sow a seed into God's kingdom to receive a harvest of abundance. Specify the harvest you need in your prayer to God. (2 Corinthians 9:6).
(b) After you asked God for healing or for a specific need, believe that you have received it. Thank God for it. Command the healing. Command the miracle (Mark 11:23-24).
(c) Meanwhile, as you wait patiently for the miracle to manifest, give thanks to God and praise Him for His goodness. Do not complain or grumble (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
(d) The miracles will manifest in due season at the perfect time.
